AC Milan Legend Set to Be Lyon Head Coach
Gennaro Gattuso has agreed to take over as manager of Olympique Lyonnais in place of Laurent Blanc, according to RMC Sport.
On Monday, Blanc and Lyon announced their separation, putting an end to weeks of rumors about his future with the team. He departs Lyon in last place in Ligue 1 after earning just one point through his first four games. Gattuso instantly became the front-runner to occupy the dugout role at Groupama Stadium.
L'Équipe claims that John Textor, who is eager to swiftly name Blanc's replacement before Sunday's game against Le Havre, has basically chosen the Italian by default. Because of the date of Blanc's departure, Textor has limited time to find a replacement, hence Gattuso appears likely to accept the position.
Gattuso is reportedly ready to join Lyon and the terms of the contract to bring him to the team have already been settled, according to RMC Sport. The agreement of Textor is the only thing preventing the deal from being completed.
