Following a terrible start to the year that saw Laurent Blanc fired after earning just one point in four Ligue 1 games, Lyon found themselves in need of a new tactician. When conversations with another Italian contender, Gennaro Gattuso, initially ran into trouble, the club turned its attention to Grosso.Additionally, it was mentioned that Frank Lampard was the front-runner for the position. The 45-year-old has previous experience with Lyon, having played for the squad from 2007 to 2009. He is well-known for scoring the crucial penalty that gave Italy the victory against France in the 2006 World Cup Final. Olympique Lyon has hired Fabio Grosso as their new head coach. Agreement is in place; awaiting document preparation, formal details, and signature.  After helping Frosinone win the Serie B championship and gain promotion, Grosso decided to leave the team in the summer in quest of a new challenge.

Gennaro Gattuso has agreed to take over as manager of Olympique Lyonnais in place of Laurent Blanc, according to RMC Sport.  On Monday, Blanc and Lyon announced their separation, putting an end to weeks of rumors about his future with the team. He departs Lyon in last place in Ligue 1 after earning just one point through his first four games. Gattuso instantly became the front-runner to occupy the dugout role at Groupama Stadium.  L'Équipe claims that John Textor, who is eager to swiftly name Blanc's replacement before Sunday's game against Le Havre, has basically chosen the Italian by default. Because of the date of Blanc's departure, Textor has limited time to find a replacement, hence Gattuso appears likely to accept the position.  Gattuso is reportedly ready to join Lyon and the terms of the contract to bring him to the team have already been settled, according to RMC Sport. The agreement of Textor is the only thing preventing the deal from being completed.

Blanc recently remarked that he believes the club would benefit from removing the current manager, who also happens to be him. The former defender for Barcelona and Manchester United has already witnessed his team lose this season to Ligue 1 teams Strasbourg and Montpellier, both of whom battled for survival the previous campaign. Graham Potter turned down the chance to succeed Laurent Blanc as head coach of Lyon. When the 48years old rolled around, Lyon's top target found it alluring but decided it wasn't the appropriate moment to come back. carries on
